It was a prayer that I never even prayed, but the Lord knew. He knew life with 3 kids had been extremely fast and knew the work load would be more than I could have imagined for this season of life. He knew my hatred for entering receipts for tax purposes and organizing them, and knew how much I enjoy teaching and talking the language of photography.
And then it came. The e-mail titled: “Interest in Photography.”
I was thrilled that she would even think of me, and actually honored and humbled that she would even think of me. She told me she had been following my fan page on facebook and was extremely interested in interning with me for a semester to get her feet wet in the world pf photography. So we exchanged a few e-mails, met and there was a instant connection.
I have been EXTREMLY blessed this season.
Lauren is a senior at Bethel college and is pursuing a degree in Media communications and a minor in studio art. We met briefly in 2007 when I was shooting her brother and sister-in-law’s wedding. I have loved having her come and have been very impressed with her character and work ethic. She has joyfully taken on challenges, and been a student that is ready to learn, even tax preparations!
I love the idea of internships and apprenticeships. I was an intern for a Time/ Life documentary photographer even before I started shooting weddings, and I learned so much more than college or labs could teach me. It is something I would strongly recommend for any budding photographer who really wants to learn what the field is all about.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU Lauren for all the work that you have done and continue to do. You are truly a gift from God.
PS. Check out her Blog HERE, makes me so proud!
Our “mini” shoot in my front yard! (Just so I could blog about her!)
Break time at the last wedding we shot together.Lauren with her family in 2007, when we first met.
Lauren is great!!! When Mark and I worked with the youth group at Crystal Free Church she was in our “small group”. It’s so crazy when you know 2 different people from completely different places and then they end up meeting and working together! 🙂
