The Cottage Farm House Wedding:: Mackenzie & Joe

When Joe’s friend Mike asked him to be the best man in his wedding, he never for a moment thought he would meet his wife!  Five years ago Mackenzie and Joe spent the entire day celebrating their friends Mike and Brittany. As the night wore on, the two continued to connected and at the end of the night, their first date was on the calendar.  The two continued dating, and when Kenzie was accepted into audiology school in Cinnciniti, Joe knew he wanted to be with her and found a job in Ohio.

On a trip home to her parents cabin last summer, also where she and Joe met for the first time, Joe took Kenzie down to the dock where he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife.  Surprised and overjoyed, she said yes! Immediate family members who were in on the proposal were there ready to greet and celebrate with the couple as they made their way off the dock!

Kenzie and Joe’s May wedding day at the Cottage Farmhouse in Glencoe, Minnesota was perfect. After the long Minnesota winter, their spring wedding was filled with weather ranging from hot and windy, to cool and rainy and even ended with a perfect sunset, something we are all ready for.

Kenzie’s ivory and rose gold belt from David’s Bridal was stunning against Joe’s grey suit from Men’s Warehouse.  The wooden ecoflowers that Kenzie and her bridesmaids held added a touch rose and whites the maroon dresses that the bridesmaids wore from David’s Bridal.  Andria from Primped did a fantastic job of on-site hair and make up for the bride and bridesmaids.

Being that Kenzie’s family was of Scottish decent, the couple decided to incorporate their heritage into their wedding day.  Kenzie’s father wore a family kilt while her mother wore the family crest as a broach. The maroon that they decided to be their color was interwoven in ad through the sashes and boots the MacCloud women wore for a few photos. During the ceremony they incorporated the Scottish Hand fastening to symbolize their unity with one another.

This Little Piggy Catering provided an incredible meal for guests as they enjoyed a night of music and dance on the patio and in the farmhouse from Jim Seichter. The fire pit was even open for s’mores as guests enjoyed the incredible warm evening.Kenzie and Joe even brought in a couple of Scottish dancers to teach guests some traditional group dances during the reception.Kenzie and Joe, it was an honor to spend your wedding day with you, thank you for making me feel like a long time friend, and for an incredible day.
