If you have been reading the blog for any time, you know that I love outsourcing! Running a business and kids all over for summer activities, I have learned I simply can not do it all. And, this year, I am getting smarter… take a look at number 5 if you have older kiddos!!
- All my editing. Have you heard me talk about the wonderful Anne? She is my incredible editor and after every wedding, she gets a file from me and within weeks, it is back in my inbox done and ready to go. She is incredible!! Right away I was a little hesitant about handing the editing portion of my work over to her because I wondered if it would be taking some of the art of my craft, but after working with her for almost 4 years, she has me down to a T and every edit comes back completely looking as if I did it myself. Now I have more time to spend with my family, and photographing more people!
- My Social Media. About 4 months out of the year, usually in busy season, I hand over my Instagram and Facebook pages to the incredible Susan! She takes it and does her thing I simply give her the photos I want to use, and she does the magic. Again, totally worth the time and money in the crazy season of life where I simply can not keep up!
- In the off season, I use a platform called Planoly to do my Instagram posting. Now with auto posting, all I have to do is spend a day coming up with content for the month and just like that, I am done. I guess this isn’t completely outsourcing, but it is a way I get things done!
- My Accountant and Financial advisor. Doing bookwork is not my favorite thing. Actually it is my LEAST favorite thing about the business, but it must get done! We also have a Financial advisor that we added this year to help us with big picture items and helping with the future. Highly advise both!
- My kids. Yes, my kids have a chore list that they do daily to keep our house in order and they also help with certain aspects of the business. My oldest helps with my Insta Stories, while my middle packages all the materials that come with a wedding and writes out thank you’s to clients. I have my youngest on mowing duty and they all have daily chores! If you have littles, I would highly suggest hiring out a baby-sitter. When my kids were little, I would have a babysitter come a few times a week so I could have uninterrupted time!
Hope that helps or gives you some ideas on where to start with outsourcing!
