In the fall of 2021, Colin had a lot of new, exciting and big changes going on in his life. One of the most exciting and significant events was meeting Jordan. He was transitioning to a new job in the Twin Cities to US Bank Stadium, which meant the apartment search was on. While looking at an apartment in Saint Paul, Jordan and Colin were walking in the neighborhood and came across a stump. She would go on to tell him about a game her family played while growing up called “stump.” He responded by hopping on the stump and kissing her. In that moment, he knew he was falling for her. Not long after, the couple moved into an apartment together nearby the same beloved stump.
The following September, the couple were walking home from Spyhouse coffee together. As they reached their favorite stump, Jordan hopped up on it with her coffee and hand and books in the other. Colin stayed off the stump and told her how much he loved her and how he was so excited to have their whole lives ahead of them. Jordan smiled back at him to encourage him to get on the stump with her. He grinned back and said, “But before I get on, I have to ask you a question.” He then got down on one knee and asked Jordan to marry him.
Jordan and Colin chose to host their wedding at Gale Woods Farm. Located on picturesque Whaletail Lake in Minnetrista, Gale Woods Farm features tall grasses, wide open fields and a variety of farm animals for guests to enjoy. The day began while Jordan and her bridesmaids got ready with Brianna Michaelson of Breezy Beauty, who did their hair and make up. Jordan then arrived at Gale Woods Farm in her beautiful Madeline Garner Morilee dress purchased at the Wedding Shoppe in Saint Paul. Colin was waiting for her at the bottom of the hill where the two chose to do their first look. We wandered along the grounds before Colin presented Jordan with a gift, a piece of their beloved stump, ready to be made into a beautiful end table for their home. Jordan was astonished and all tears as she hugged Colin.
The wedding party soon joined the couple with the ladies wearing burnt orange dresses, purchased from Azazie and the men looking in dapper navy suits from Knights Chamber in Maple Grove. The beautiful bouquets from Our Blessed Woods were the perfect accent when placed against the dresses and suits. Family then arrived for their time with photos
Their day was one of the hottest of the summer, but it didn’t stop them from having an incredible time. The outdoor ceremony began with Jordan and her father walking down the aisle while guests were encouraged to take ice packs on water bottles to stay cool. Colin and Jordan then exchanged rings from Wedding Day Diamonds while their guess looked on. The couple were celebrated as they were pronounced husband and wife and then greeted guests in the beautiful green space of the barn. They then headed in for an incredible dinner provided by Lunds and Byerlys and then went to cut their cake from Sift Bakery. After toasts they headed out for a beautiful golden hour along for photos near her grandfathers 1946 bright blue Chevy Truck. Jordan and Colin then came back to the dance floor for their first dance and Dirk Umbanhowar kept the party going for guests all night long. Colin and Jordan, congratulations! Enjoy your incredible honeymoon in New York City.
